  1. AO Opto-mechanical Design Status and Issues • Now carrying 100 mm 1st relay and pickoff switchyard as baseline • Optical prescription (zemax), throughput/emmisivity, and wavefront quality characterization available • Need to construct wfe budget in conjunction with instruments • DM’s identified, TT mechanisms out for ROM estimates • Opto-mechanical layout first-cut accomplished, proceeding to more detailed drawings • Interacting with LOWFS design team • Work remaining to do: • Optical tolerance analysis • Thermal, flexure, and vibration analysis of table / mounting system • FRD update • Design manual

  2. RTC Design Status and Issues • Baseline architecture is massively parallel processing paradigm. Still looking strong • Tomography algorithm: Iterative Fourier domain preconditioned back projection tomography • Processors • Board and processor count and costing methodology established • On board and board to board communication bandwidths understood • Software: The main wavefront reconstruction and tomography algorithms have been evaluated for feasibility in mpp framework: • Main exception is split-tomography algorithm to handle tip/tilt data • Good news: radial voxel algorithm (which saves processors and $$) looks doable • Work remaining to do: • Code testing procedures definition • Design document (in progress – outline and some content generated)
