A Little History • 2007 Review of National Occupational Standards for Local Land Charges in Local Authority Sector • 2007 Responsibility for standards transferred to Asset Skills – LMI carried out • 2007 National Occupational Standards (NOS) and National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs) at Levels 3 and 4 developed for local authority functions • 2008/9 Asset Skills project to identify private search functions, incremental review of National Occupational Standards and revised qualifications structure • 2009 Final complete suite of Local Land Charges and Property Information • 8 Local Land Charge Officer/Local Authority Units • 7 Personal Search Agents Units • 9 Management and Leadership Units • 6 Administration Units • 2 Customer service Units • 2 Sales Units • 2 Business development Units

Personal Search Agents National Occupational Standards • Register and confirm personal search instructions from clients • Prepare to carry out personal searches of local land and property information • Research local land and property information • Compile and present accurate and comprehensive personal search reports • Deliver personal search reports to clients • Conduct personal searches of local land and property information • Design and compile accurate and comprehensive personal search reports Qualifications Pathway for private companies created at Levels 3 and 4

Qualifications Pathway for Personal Search Agents - Level 3 Mandatory Units • Carry out own responsibilities at work • Work within your business environment • Develop productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders • Deliver reliable customer service • Resolve customer service problems PSA Pathway (3 from 5) • Register and confirm personal search instructions from clients • Prepare to carry out personal searches of local land and property information • Research local land and property information • Compile and present accurate and comprehensive personal search reports • Deliver personal search reports to clients

Current Developments All standards are moving to the Qualifications and Credit Framework - broader statements of Learning Outcomes and Assessment Criteria - smaller more flexible units of accreditation - credit accumulation based on levels, credit values and rules of combination for qualifications The Local Land Charges and Property Information National Occupational Standards (NOS) are being “converted” into Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) units - first draft QCF units circulated February 2010 - reviewed early March 2010 - final drafts completed end of March 2010 with credit values and rules of combination
