  4. Citations • Look at the handout Citations. • Write the information then use a parentheses at the end of it. Example: Dr. Seuss really had a great way of take fun information and making children able to understand it (Lundon par 12). **Notice this is the same information – just summarized… ***

  5. Summarizing and Paraphrasing 1st – YOU MUST do this in your paper or you will lose points. YOU CAN NOT just directly quote the whole paper. 6. Example from Countries • The Caribbean Islands have many destructive hurricanes that “last from June to November” ( “Caribbean Island” 3). According to the book Caribbean Island these hurricanes which “produce heavy rainfalls,” develop “in the eastern Caribbean over the ocean” (3). Despite the fear of these wonderful forces of nature, the Caribbean Islands still lure visitors year round. “The weather is not a large problem for tourists, they find the sun reaches a temperature well above 90 degrees most days” ( Adams 13-14). Though the hurricanes have been known to destroy many beautiful beaches, in turn, closing them down for weeks at a time; people still travel to see the many wonders of the Islands (“Customs” 15).
