  3. Population • Latin America’s second largest country • 1/3 of the population clusters around the capital - Buenos Aires. • Another third are in the richest province (Buenos Aires). • The rest live in a million cities, towns and villages scattered throughout the Republic.

  4. 92.1% ‘Christian’ • 70% Profess Roman Catholicism though only 20% attend church regularly • 9% ‘Evangelicals’ • 3.1% agnostic • 1.9% Muslim • 1.3% Jewish • 0.9% atheist • 0.9% Buddhist and others

  9. Operation World reports… • Prison ministry continues to transform the nation’s jails. Revival began in Olmos high-security prison, with half of its 3,000 inmates now believers, and spread to 200 other institutions. An estimated 25% of prisoners are Christian; one prison, Cristo la Uníca Esperanza, is the only completely evangelical prison in Latin America. Around 250 pastors work in prisons.
