  2. PROGRESS REPORT ON CADETSHIP • The cadetship advert was placed on the national newspapers and the response has been very positive. • On average a total of 15 CV are received

  3. PROGRESS REPORT ON CADETSHIP • The total number of applicants are as follows: • Maritime Studies = 47 • Marine Engineering = 10 • Mechanical Engineering = 89 • Electrical Engineering = 38 • Industrial Engineering = 3 • Boilermakers = 3

  4. PROGRESS REPORT ON CADETSHIP • Matriculants = 38 • Electro Mechanical = 3 • Total applicants after the advert = 231

  5. COMMUNICATION WITH CADETS WHILE AT SEA • Currently in place we have an e-mail system which can be accessed from our website. • A proposal is to encourage our current training providers to inform the cadets of the communication system in place during the induction phase of the training.

  6. COMMUNICATION WITH CADETS WHILE AT SEA • Training companies such as Smit, Safmarine and TNPA are now providing updates on their cadets with regard to the training. • A total of 138 are now at sea. • With the assistance of Chief Information Officer a more sophisticated tracking system will be purchase.
