  2. Economic Impact • Domestic and international travelers interject an estimated $37.2 billion annually into Pennsylvania’s economy. • $3.8 billion state and local taxes revenues are generated. • 450,000+ jobs are supported by PA’s travel tourism industry.

  3. Pennsylvania Tourism Partnership • A recent survey confirms that statewide marketing is critical to attracting visitors, to the future success of the industry, and to the economy. • We will establish a dedicated funding source and transfer responsibility for strategic planning and marketing to a public-private partnership in order to provide that consistency. • Team Pennsylvania Foundation will provide a home for the Partnership for the first 3-4 years, and the Partnership will eventually be chartered as its own 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation. •  This partnership will leverage public and private funds to privatize most of the travel promotion functions now performed by DCED through the Pennsylvania Tourism Office. • In the meantime, DCED will continue to provide critical statewide promotional support.

  4. visitPA.com • Recently Completed Website Redesign to Incorporate Mobile Friendly Responsive Design

  5. visitPA.com • July was the busiest month for site traffic on visitPA.com.

  6. SEM • Reactivated our SEM campaign in September • Goal: drive traffic to visitPA.com in order to increase awareness of our partner offerings throughout the state. • Budget: $240,000 Our average CPC is 50% less than last year’s SEM campaign

  9. Media Missions • Hosted a media mission in Washington, D.C. with First Lady Susan Corbett • Nearly 20 partners participated to share their stories with 12 top-tier journalists • 35 million impressions through 7 secured stories • Planning a media mission to Toronto media market in October

Social Media • Almost 250,000 community members across our five key platforms. • We are promoting partners by developing engaging posts that drive users to articles, listings and events on visitPA.com. 333 Subscribers 71,649 Likes 150,981 Followers 1,510 Followers 25,229 Followers Experienced 536% growth during our first full year of management

  11. Social Media • Expect strong increase in site traffic and engagement from #FallinPA campaign.
