Geospatial Executive Board (GEB)Responsibilities • Articulate a corporate vision for an enterprise-wide geospatial environment • Provide oversight and coordination of geospatial programs and activities • Ensure geospatial policies and programs are integrated, and are responsive to business needs • Act on recommendations from the Geospatial Advisory Committee

Geospatial Advisory Committee (GAC)Responsibilities • Identify, monitor, and address issues regarding the state of geospatial programs and activities • Develop and make recommendations concerning geospatial program execution, and resources needed to meet agency requirements • Communicate observations, findings, and recommendations to agency geospatial community and others

ESRI Image Server Launched in October 2006 • Three distinct services: • FS intranet – through ArcMAP client, v9.1 & v9.2 • I-Web and National Apps access through Citrix • ArcServer, providing Image Server access for Web Map Services (WMS), ArcIMS and HTML web services • Development for additional Image Server access: • NIFC and the WFDSS application • MODIS Active Fire Map, internet ArcIMS access • FIA and FHTET enhanced access needs • ArcGIS Explorer (3D Globe viewing)

ESRI Image Server Current Services Published • Imagery: • BOTUS – 1 meter color (Continental US) • eSAT – 15 meter color (Continental US and Alaska) • MODIS – Blue Marble – 1 kilometer (North America) • Various 1 meter imagery datasets (by request) • Ottawa NF CIR • Alaska imagery TBD • Maps: Continental US only at this time • 1:24k, 1:100k, and 1:250k eTOPO (old DRG’s) • All current Softcopy produced by GSTC • All current Secondary Base Series produced by GSTC • Terrain: • 200, 90, 30, and 10 meter Shaded Relief (Continental US) • 30 and 10 meter Aspect (Continental US) • 60 meter Shaded Relief (Alaska)

ESRI Image Server Statistics • Servers have been in operation for six months, 24/7 access • 1 hour down time each weekend on off hours • Only 15 minutes of down time during business hours over the last 6 months • Image Server client access: (rounded numbers) • Average 1,600 client connections per day (business days) • Each client connection zooms or pans an average of 16 times • Each zoom or pan averages 350 KB / image • Average daily output across the network – 25,600 compressed images /day or 8.96 GB’s • Total business days in operation – 126, so 3,225,600 compressed images delivered to date, or 1.13 TB’s
