  1. Earth Andrew Blackburn Romans There’s nine planets in the solar system .Earth is the third from the sun. Earth is the fifth largest planet.

History • Eratosthenes discovered my planet. • They discovered my planet in 276 bc. • Eratosthenes a Greek scholar who was the person to determine the circumference of earth also he discovered earth. • The roman goddess Terra is the goddess of land. A circle with a plus sign in the middle is the earths symbol.

  3. Solar System • It’s the third planet from the sun. • The earth is 1 au from the sun. • It takes the earth 365.26 days to go Around the sun. • One rotation on a earth day is 23.93 hours Long. This is a picture of all eight planet’s in order and color.

Planet Measurements • The mass of the earth is 5.97*1024 kg. • The volume of the earth is 1.803*1012 km3. • The earth equatorial circumference is 40,041 km. • The earth mean density is 5.515 glem3. • The earth gravity is 9.798 m/s2. • I way a 100 lbs my planet.   5. Composition and Atmosphere • The earth core is made out of iron and the surface is rocky • Are atmosphere reflects off the ocean. This is a picture of the layers of the earth.

  6. Surface Conditions • List surface temperatures – coldest, hottest, average. • Describe the details about weather found on your planet. If you are doing Jupiter or Neptune, this is where you should show and tell about the large spot.

  8. Moons • How many moons does your planet have? • List moon names. • If your planet has no moons, add more pictures and captions with facts about the picture.

  9. Put the name of the most interesting moon here • Tell us about this interesting moon. • Provide several facts. • Include a photo (with a caption). • Again, if your planet does not have moons, add more photos and captions with facts.

  10. Rings • Provide information about the rings surrounding your planet. • Include a photo (with a caption) of the rings. • If your planet does not have rings, add more photos and descriptive captions with facts about the picture.

  11. Exploration • List satellite names and dates in the last 10 years that have explored your planet. • Include a photo (with a caption that describes the mission) of at least one of the satellites that has visited your planet. • Add more slides if you need to.

  12. Bibliography • Include the bibliographies for the 2 or more books and the 2 or more internet sights you used to collect your information. ***remember NO plagiarism!!!! If you’re not sure, site your information, better to be safe then sorry!!! • If you are caught you will be given an office referral.

  14. Grading • The completed Research Worksheet is worth 200 points! • This presentation is worth 800 points. • 600 for content. Did you complete everything asked with a high level of effort? • 250 for great images with excellent captions. If they are fuzz or hard to read point will be taken off. • 100 for Bibliography and sighting your pictures, books(2) and internet sights (2) used. • 50 for style and neatness. Is your presentation colorful, easy to read, and neat? • Total: 1,000 points! • Delete this slide before turning in.

  15. Did you finish early? • Make your presentation “Over the Top” • Add more facts • Add more photos with descriptive captions with facts about the picture • Add animations • Add an audio narration • Add supportive graphics

  16. Saving Your Work • Save the PowerPoint (ppt) in your period’s folder that is located in your home directory. • Save your PPT file and any images in that folder only. • Any images or files left on the desktop WILL BE DELETED! • If you want to work on this at home, you will need a flash drive. • Delete slides 11-14 before turning in.

  17. Turning in Your Presentation • When finished, alert Ms. Hunter. • She will copy your presentation to a flash drive for grading. • If you have your own flash drive or a recordable CD, you can take home your presentation files. • WARNING – No points are awarded if your presentation gets “accidentally” deleted, does not save, gets lost, is at home, etc. YOU are responsible for your files. • Delete THIS slide before turning in.
