  1. Peru is open to travelers year round but your activities depend a lot on the weather. The country experiences two main seasons. It would be a better idea to focus on the dry and wet season rather than summer and winter. The dry season is ideally the best time to visit this place. What is the best time? The dry season is between May and October when one can experience sunny days, bright blue skies in the Andes with that chill at night. April is also a wonderful time to visit this place as rain levels dip significantly. You will find fewer crowds before the high season begin from May but booking lodge Peru is important for a genuine mountain lodge experience. Travelling in April does offer lower rates at mountain Lodge Peru and for flights, an advantage of fewer visitors. You will experience less muddy conditions, bright green scenery, and fair weather. The wet season prevails from November to March when visitors notice more rain while January and February are the wettest months. The following guidelines will help you to find out what’s on offer to come, witness, and experience in the month of April.

  2. Events in April The Anniversary of Chiclayo: You can be a part of festivals like The Anniversary of Chiclayo. The celebration continues for a week with folkloric music and dance, gastronomic indulgences, and beauty pageants. Anniversary of Ayacucho: The Anniversary of Ayacucho is celebrated on 25th April. Previously the city of Ayacucho was founded as San Juan de la Frontera de Huamanga in 1540 which later changed in 1825 to Ayacucho. A host of cultural activities, sporting events, craft exhibitions, and food tasting sessions are held as part of the celebrations.

  3. Semana Santa: The week leading up to Easter is considered a holy week which falls either in March or April. During this time processions are carried out along the streets. Peruvian Paso Horse National Competition: Every year this competition is held around mid- to-late April organized by the ANCPCPP. This weeklong competition is held at the Mamacona stables near the Pachacamac ruins where horses and riders demonstrate their abilities, horsemen parade their horses with Peruvian coastal dances using handkerchiefs as props, a food fair with best local dishes, and lots of music and dances. The distinct climate zones The weather patterns differ depending on the place you are visiting. Location wise, there are three distinct climate zones. The Peruvian west coast bordering the Pacific Ocean is a long desert strip including the cities of Lima, Mancora, Trujillo, Arequipa, and Paracas. The average temperature at Lima ranges between 24° C to 18°C in April. The Andes: In April places like Huaraz, Machu Picchu, Cusco, and Lake Titicaca starts experiencing less rain and cool temperature.
