  2. The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction recently informed districts that 12th graders who are Career & Technical Education concentrators (4 credits in a CTE pathway) will be required to take the WorkKeys test during the month of February. • Lee County Schools has chosen to test ALL SENIORS. • The WorkKeys system from ACT is being used in high schools across the state and throughout the country to help ensure that students have the skills they need to be college and career ready. Who should take the Workkeys assessment?

  3. What is WorkKeys? • The WorkKeys® Assessment System is a comprehensive system for measuring the common skills required for success in the workplace. • Students will be tested in three areas: • Applied Math • Reading for comprehension • Locating information • Therefore the WorkKeys System can allow you to identify individuals who have the basic skills (Reading, Math, locating information) required to be successful in a given position or career. When properly used, businesses can make hiring and promotion decisions based on WorkKeys with confidence and security. Workkeys

  4. The WorkKeys Assessment System is rapidly becoming the nationwide standard for measuring and communicating basic workplace skills. It is currently in use in all 50 states in the United States. The WorkKeys System was developed by ACT, Inc., the creators of the college entrance exam. • Students can earn Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum certificates depending on how high they score on each test. The higher a student scores determines the percent of careers that student is qualified for. The WorkKeys System is Nationwide
