  16. Orientation • Glossary of terms • Overview • Paper vs. Event Testing • WorkKeys Eligible vs. State Allowable • Approval of Accommodations • Participation Guidelines and the WorkKeys Accommodations Table • Table 1 • Table 2

  17. WorkKeys Eligible vs. State Allowable • 1) Using “WorkKeys-eligible” accommodations for testing result in WorkKeys reportable scores that could be used for employers, colleges, scholarships, and other entities includingthe Alaska Performance Scholarship. Only students with disabilities and limited English proficiency with district documented accommodations can use accommodations resulting in reportable scores. • 2) “State-allowable” accommodations may result in WorkKeys scores that are NOT reportable and will not be eligible for an individual score report or NCRC. Additionally, all students testing with state-allowable accommodations or without accommodations will satisfy Alaska’s regulation for all 11th graders to be tested on a work ready/college ready transitional skills assessment [4 AAC 06.717].

  18. Table Orientation • Column Headers: • WorkKeys Eligible • State Allowable • Reportable Scores • NCRC • Internet testing: I • Paper/Pencil Event Testing: P • Blocks indicate score report and NCRC available

  19. Notes • Most Accommodations from the PG can be used • Accommodations are listed separate and independent • If student needs more than one accommodation please ensure special consideration to the special criteria noted in the table • If not WorkKeys allowable and Accommodation team chooses to use anyway, may not produce valid scores • Take care to note that accommodate form as defined in the glossary, means special materials must be ordered for p/p • ACT vs. EED Flex Schedule Definition • Math- Manipulatives are not WorkKeys Eligible • Grayed out not allowable

  20. National Career Readiness Certificate • Portable credential based on WorkKeys® system • Documents that an individual has basic workplace skills • Meaningful to employers, job seekers, students, schools • Translates vague statement like “you need math skills” into a precise set of teachable skills really used in the workplace • Companies can verify that workers and applicants have core employability skills • ACT documents helping specific companies: • Reduce turnover by up to 84% • Decrease overtime hours by 95% • Experience a 244% ROI on training dollars • Workers and applicants with higher scores are more prepared for a wider range of jobs and training programs

  21. Testing Outside of the Aug 1 - Dec 31 Window • EED will not pay for any testing fees, including: • Ordering & shipping and receiving • Scoring • NCRC, and associated charges • Must use ACT’s Off-the-Shelf Order Form (on EED website) • Alaska Supplement for WorkKeys Administration does not apply • EED will not receive RegiSTAR students data results • Up to School District/Student to track score results • Student will not receive NCRC, unless site makes arrangements to do so directly with ACT • Student should receive score report • If use Internet URL’s EED provided, you may be billed for any charges incurred
