  3. Class Rotation • Three 90 minute classes • One 90 minute class for Math • One 90 minute class for Science/Social Studies • One 90 minute class for Reading/English/Spelling

  4. Ms. Hill: English • School Newspaper • Daily punctuation, grammar, and spelling strategies

  5. Ms. Hill: Reading • Daily read at home, plus • one sentence response • (extra point for parent • signature) • Alignment with Science and • Social Studies curriculum

  6. Mrs. Ford: Math

  7. Mr. Bulechek: Social Studies • Periodic Projects

  8. Mr. Bulechek: Science • Science Notebooks • Lab Materials • Periodic Projects

  9. Communication • School Calendar – check often • Web pages – check each teacher’s page for assignments and upcoming projects • Tuesday Folders – review student work, look for school communication, sign and return on Wednesday • E-mail – feel free to email as needed • Planner – check often • Progress reports – every 4 ½ weeks • Report Cards – every 9 weeks

  10. Discipline • School rules – check CES webpage (KNIGHTS) • Behavior Log – will come home in Tuesday folders. Sign and return. • 3 missing assignments in a subject equals detention (resets each 9 weeks) • Camp disciplinary contract to be coming home within 2-3 weeks

  11. Attendance • Absentee Work – absent 1 day = 3 days to make up work, absent 2+ days = 5 days to make up work. After the allotted time, the grade becomes a 0, unless other arrangements are made with the teacher prior to due date. • Tardiness and early check-out – instructional time is lost when students aren’t present in class. • Regular attendance – vital to academic success. • Medical Appointments – if possible, please make these during recess/lunch hour or after school. If you must check them out during school hours, please return them after the appointment when possible.

Etc. • Lunch forms: PLEASE FILL OUT • Room fee $20 • Higher Expectations – we are trying to prepare the children for middle school. • After School – starting 2nd nine weeks, look for communication from Mr. Bulechek. • Laptops – look for more information to come soon. • Band • If you have further questions, please email your child’s homeroom teacher.
