  2. Evaluate Lighting Conditions • Was the picture taken Indoors or Outside? • Was it Natural or Artificial Lighting?

  3. Evaluate the Space in Photograph • Is there a lot of feet in focus? • Is there a little bit of feet in focus

  4. What F/Stops correspond?You Choose: F/1.4 F/3.0 F/2.8 F/4 The number following the F/ directly relates to feet in focus F/22 F/5.6 F/16 F/11 F/8

  5. What Shutter Speeds Correspond to the Lighting Conditions established? Choose from ss. 1/2000-B 1/1000 1/500 1/250 1/125 Bright Sun Sunny at Noon Sunny afternoon Sun/Cloudy

  6. Does the time represent a long or short exposure over the lens hole? • Shutter Curtain moves in front of the lens opening the higher the shutter speed number the less time it reveals the lens hole to the light

  7. Which hole lets in more light

  8. Will this hole risk over or under exposure of your film? Protect your Film Protect your Film Protect your Film

  9. Do you need to compensate? Do you need a faster Shutter Speed or Slow One Is the motion naturally a really fast action or slow?

  10. Questioning what you see • How many feet are within your picture plane? • Can you measure it or is it more than measurable? • Is it less than you can measure? • Aperture basically represents the amount of feet in focus from the center point of the subject you focus on.

  11. Summarizing what you see • From the center point of what you focused on how many feet until it is no longer focused?

  12. Visualizing Lighting Conditions • Ask the questions: • Is it so bright out that you need to squint?
