What has happened between 2004 and 2012 In 2004-2005, the Town was – • Trying to manage growth • Making plans to identify and address needs • Creating a vision • Creating an identity • Understanding its role in the region “Indian Trail should be a vibrant and self-sufficient town with a unique identity. With a focus on downtown and its connections to surrounding neighborhoods and commercial areas, Indian Trail can be a place where people live, work, and play in a safe environment. Diverse land uses served by an expansive transportation network create the opportunity for Indian Trail to effectively manage metropolitan growth pressures while at the same time preserve its small town character and rural amenities”. - Vision Statement from The Villages of Indian Trail – A Plan for Managed Growth & Livability -

  3. What has happened between 2004 and 2012 In 2012, the Town is – • Focused on Economic Development • Building infrastructure to support the vision • Focused on making Indian Trail a destination • Making livability a reality

  4. Plan Update… Stakeholder Interviews – • Conducted 10 stakeholder group interviews over two day period (Oct 17th and 18th) • Talked to over 60 stakeholders already • Uncovered many issues and concerns that Indian Trail is currently facing and how we can improve the existing comprehensive plan
