  5. How does it work? Turning the crank turns a series of gears, which move a small generator to create electricity

  6. The unit uses a step-up gearbox to increase the speed of rotation on the dynamo. Each turn of the crank turns the dynamo 73 times. ωf/ωi = n1/n2, where n = number of teeth on gears ωf/ωi = ωf/1 = 39/12 ωf/ωi = ωf/3.25 = 39/12 ωf/ωi = ωf/10.5625 = 40/12 ωf/ωi = ωf/10.5625 x (40/12) ωf = 72.62ωi
