  3. Goals of this Session • Introduce you to some Apps for web pages. • Show you how these tools can increase community engagement • Introduce you to other apps and web 2.0 tools.

  4. Everyone will leave here with tools they can use today and tools they can take back to teachers in the classroom.

  8. What is an App? • APP is an abbreviation for application. • An application or program that runs on a device • Web Apps • Phone Apps • Ipad Apps • Usually addresses one specific item or task.

  9. What is Web 2.0? • "Web 2.0" refers to what was perceived as a second generation of web development and web design. It is characterized as facilitating communication . • Basically it is a set of tools that are available across the internet for many to use. They do NOT reside on your machine.

  10. FREE • Many Apps and Web 2.0 tools are totally FREE • Others are very inexpensive. • Some are made especially for education or have education subscriptions • They often are impressive or have a “WOW” factor.
