  3. We will share with you today a few e-tools we like a great deal. Career One-Stop Workforce3One O-NET

  4. The “data” comes in part from BLS and ETA grants. • BLS:Fed/State Cooperative Program Contracts (70-75%) • ETA:Workforce Information Grants (formerly One-Stop/LMI Grants) (25-30%) Supplied by 2 USDOL Agencies

  5. The goal is to make data more accessible to you and your clients. • Goals: • Move from Data to User Friendly Information • Wider Dissemination to Partners & the Public • Actionable State, Regional*, & Local Information for: • WIA & ES Programs • State, Regional*, & Local Workforce Development • State, Regional*, & Local Economic Development • General Public *Local Regions were a new priority in the PY 2006 - 2008 Grants – following ETA’s Regional Economic Development Concepts for Data & Resources. (An Emphasis on Support for Recovery Act of 2009 was added for PY 2009.)

  6. Use O-NET as a comprehensive database of worker and job characteristics & requirements. Replaced “Dictionary of Occupational Titles” http://online.onetcenter.org Variety of interactive tools. http://online.onetcenter.org

  9. The Career OneStop page provides a jumping off point to many resources.   10. The CareerInfoNet component provides workforce information to the public. A National On-Line WI/LMI System Contains Many Career Exploration Tools Provides information at many different levels. www.careerinfonet.org

  11. America’s Service Locator can help you find resources in your community. Access same info via phone! Find the nearest one-stop center. Locate other resources in your community. www.servicelocator.org
