  3. Food component: A food component – • One of 3 food groups that comprise reimbursable breakfasts. • One of 5 food groups that comprise reimbursable lunches. Food item: A food item is a specific food offered within the food components, such as a hamburger on a bun (2 food components – meat and grain). Offer Versus ServeDefinitions

  5. Visual Portion Sizes All portions were determined using exact weights from the USDA Food Buying Guide.

  6. ¼ cup Canned Peaches ½ cup 1 cup

  7. .61 oz. ham= ½ M/MA Diced Ham 1.22 oz. ham= 1 M/MA 2.44 oz= 2 M/MA Based on USDA Ham, products will vary in M/MA equivalents.

  8. ¼ cup Broccoli Florets ½ cup 1 cup

  9. 1/8 cup= ½ M/MA ¼ cup= 1 M/MA Pinto Beans ½ cup= 2 M/MA

  10. ¼ cup Grape Clusters ½ cup 1 cup
