  2. The Smart Project Assignment Software for Project Management ECE Group 8 Introduction Block Diagram In a large/mid size scale organization, C-level executives often find it difficult/challenging to match projects to project managers. The aim of this project is to build a platform that optimizes project assignment to project managers. Previous research has established that project manager assignments affect the performance of projects and eventually organization. Industry criteria for project assignments are based on project requirements and competencies of project managers. We strive to deliver innovative software solutions that fulfill large/mid size organizations’ need to effectively manage the project assignments. Features Algorithm Coefficient We believe our software holds some key advantages over others, which includes: • Smart optimization algorithm that gives your organization an edge in managing project management • Muti-dimensional approach to evaluate a project manager’s capabilities on specific projects • Convenient database to edit project manager’s information • Easy to use interface • Factor in project manager’s multi-tasking ability for project assignments Future Applications This is still an ongoing project and there are a few things in our mind that we plan to improve: • Enhance the database in order to hold a larger amount of data • Enhance the algorithm to factor in the project continuity (the ability to pick up an ongoing project) into consideration • Allow dynamic project management assignment and intelligent project matching recommendations Technical Specifications • Language: Java 6.0 • Platform: JBuilder 2008 • Database: Microsoft Access 2007 • The software runs on: • Windows • Linux • Mac
