Conservation plan is organized by Plan/Land Unit/Practices….

9

The TSP can create new items for the Plan….

10

The TSP can create new items for the Plan….

Practices are linked to National/Local Standards….

Using GIS to develop the plan

  • Getting Land Units boundaries from NRCS

  • Getting base data (Soils, Imagery, Topography)  automatically

  • Digitizing fields/subfields, other features

  • Creating Buffers, Setbacks

  • Measuring distances, calculating areas

  • Creating maps

  • Sharing pictures & background info

The plan is exported from NCPDB….

  • //put screenshots of exporting to XML

Land Unit boundaries are imported from NCPDB….

Soils, Imagery & Topography come automatically from public servers….

25

Soils maps & tables (SSURGO)…..

26

Topography (DRGs)….

27

Simplified editing tools for working on the plan…..

28

29

The planner easily updates info in layers (eg: soil samples…..)

Streams, Ponds, or other relevant physical features…..

the Planner can create buffers, setbacks, and estimate spreadable acreage …..

One click map reporting…..

Developing the plan

  • MMP/Rusle2/P-index integration

Start MMP from the CNMP section …..

  • //put screenshot with GIS/MMP/etc.

MMP is opened and data from GIS automatically imported …..

RUSLE2 and other tools can be made available for plan development…. …..

Finally, the plan is delivered electronically

  • E-filing:

    • Conservation Plans

    • Documents – eg: .mmp files, CNMP reports, soil lab tests, engineering specs, etc.

    • GIS data (future versions)

The Document exchange section allows to report documents electronically…..

For instance, upload the .mmp file which generated the plan…..

Once it’s uploaded the .mmp file can be edited and saved to the central server…..

And also the plan report can be uploaded and viewed from its folder…..

Finally, conservation practices are checked-in back into the NCPDB…..
