Iris versicolor • Basal leaves, more than 1 cm wide • 2-3 flowers per plant • Six-parted flower, three petals and three sepals • Flower is perfect, three stamen and a single style branching into three stigma • Inferior ovary • Stem and roots grow from a rhizome • Grows in marshes, swamps, wet meadows, along shorelines, and in forested wetlands.
