  1. Development of VLE How are we are using the VLE in ICT.

  2. Aims • To encourage all pupils to access and use the VLE to aid their understanding of ICT. • To have all the schemes of work on the VLE so pupils/parents have greater access to information and resources that we use in ICT to make our lessons successful. • To have learning tools readily available such as blog areas and specially tailored APP’s that aid the learning process.

  3. How will we achieve this. • By creating dedicated areas where each year group can access the current programme of study. • By ensuring that the area is fun, interactive and easy to use. • To make sure the content is up to date and the information is current.

  4. Key Stage 3 – Area example

  5. Drilling down through the pages • Archived topics • Current topic

  6. Use of blogs in ICT. Tell me about your favourite game(homework task) • Pupils engagement with other pupils on the blog. Leading to deeper thinking and understanding

  7. Using the homework planner to set work. From next year it is policy to set homework this way so it is archived.

  8. Using APP’s to revise Smartphone downloads. Specific app to aid students understanding of how to answer a higher mark GCSE question.

  9. How we plan to share this. • Investing in appropriate software that we can all easily use. Supporting teaching across departments by helping to create similar learning APP’s through training people to create them from an afterschool workshop. This will ensure that we can create tailored app’s to suit the learner that we can utilise at home and in school on tablets. • Supporting teaching across the whole school helping teachers gain confidence to engage with using the VLE area possibly through creating a specialist team dedicated that will through training be confident users and in turn will set up an area and passing on training to others .
