  7. Early life • Born in Tavistock, Devon (england) • Date of birth is unkown • Parents Edmund and Mary Drake • Father was a preacher • Sent off to live with rich merchant cousins to learn trade

  8. Early carrier • Ate age 23 his cousin and him sailed to the new world, John Hawkins • This is ware his naval experience came from

  9. First hatred of the Spanish • On a voyage with his cousins merchant fleet the spanishtrapt him in the port of San Juan de Ulúa • His cousin was killed this fiery his hatered Of the spanish
