  2. Step one Access the Excel program and select a blank spreadsheet option. In the second column type in the first month of the year January and so on for the rest of the year. Step one Top tip Box Highlight the January Cell. Drag the curser across the first row. The months of the year will appear automatically. Top tip

  3. Step Two Data time :You may now enter both the temperature and rainfall data. Select column A, enter temperature and rainfall in rows 2 and 3 Enter the data

  4. Go Graph Go! Step Three Place a Block on all of the data. (Highlight all of the entered data) Click on the Chart Wizard icon Top Tip Box Look on your Toolbar

  5. Step Four Click on the Top graph option Click next until you reach the third page of the chart wizard

  6. Step five On the third page of the Chart wizard. Give the graph a title. Provide a name for both the x-axis (Months) and the Y-axis (rainfall) Select the legend option and deselect the show legend option Tap next and in step 4 of the wizard, select ‘As new sheet’. Choose a name and click finish

  7. Step 6 The graph is nearly complete. You must first change the temperature data to a line graph. Put your cursor onto one of the temperature columns and right click. From the option box, choose ‘Chart type’, followed by ‘Line graph’ as the type of graph. The temperature then appears as a line graph.

  8. That’s all Folks The Temperature line can be moved upward. To do this right click on the line and choose ‘format data series’. From this option box select the Axis tab at the top and click on ‘Secondary axis’ You may now add a label to the y-axis on the right side. Click onto the chart wizard and move through to step 3. Select the ‘Secondary value (Y) axis. Enter temperature (degrees Centigrade)
