Remote Labs Research Facility for Engineering Education • Project Head: John Sandoval Moreno • About: Construction of a remote lab on control and automation for engineering education use. • Benefit: Research outputs on engineering education using this lab will be submitted to IEEE Trans. on Educ. And IEEE MEEM • Status: Funding/Sponsorship needed for software license and equipment

  17. Lack of Funding For: • Membership development • Publicity • Sponsorship/Organization of events with traveling required • Projects • Seed money for other activities

  18. Lack of Publicity and Active Members • We still need to devise other means of publicity to attract new members. • New members are needed to for succession planning. • Active members needed for MEEM and the management of the EdSocSAC Content Management System.

Budget Proposal for 2010 • Awards for studentsUp to $1000 dollars/year for awards + 20 free EdSoc memberships. • Advertisement in conferences and other meetings$500 dollars/year for posters and pamphlets. • Travel for supporting activity chairsUp to $3000 dollars/year for traveling, conference fees, accommodations, etc. • Support students to create activitiesUp to $2000/year for partial sponsorship for activities of EdSocSAC. • Total: 6500 dollars/year + 20 memberships.
