Thank you to everyone who volunteered and brought desserts. Heavenly Father, Stir us to listen to the needs of humankind, and to do our part to assist those in need. Teach us to meet each day gratefully and to realize that we can create more happiness by serving others than doing for ourselves. And now bless this food to our use and us to Your service. Amen From: “Invocations for Kiwanis Occasions” by James J. Muench Thanks to Joe Overby for donating the cement garden turtle sculptures that he made. He is going to present a sculpture to each school where our club has a sponsored youth program. ANNOUNCEMENTS Sadly, our former club member, Bill Noe passed on November 28th. It will be used in transporting children to and from the Therapy Center. JuliAnn Adams, John Bates and Debbie attended a program where students sat at tables with adults, and had an opportunity to talk about their future goals, job opportunities and strategies for getting along with their peers. The University of Florida Proton Therapy Institute includes clinics for the evaluation of cancer patients and ongoing cancer treatment. Proton therapy provides a method by which to precisely kill just the cancer cells. As a result, there is less radiation exposure and damage to healthy tissue. Currently, UF Proton Therapy Institute is one of only several proton therapy facilities operating in the nation and the only facility offering this new cancer treatment in the Southeast.
