  3. John in appearance, was short and stout with a ruddy complexion. • Those close to loved him, but his bluntness, impatience, and vanity made more enemies than friends. That is why he did not get to be president two times. • But his clumsiness in human relations caused him to be misunderstood .His diary and personal letters explain that he was kind and a very nice person.
