  3. What is the test for the presence of Starch? Turns iodine solution blue/black

  4. What is the test for the presence of Glucose? Turns Benedicts solution orange

  5. What is the test for the presence of protein? Produces an alkaline gas when heating with soda lime.

  6. What is the test for the presence of fat/oil? Filter paper become translucent when fat oil is rubbed onto its surface.

  7. What is Fermentation? The process of converting plant sugars into alcohol

  8. What is Distillation? The process used to make alcohol more concentrated.

  9. Give examples of consumer products produced from plants. Medicines, Soaps, Cosmetics, Dyes, Foods, Food colourings, Pharmaceuticals
