Schedule and RoutineMonday- SpanishTuesday – GymWednesday- MusicThursday – Library/ Computer, ArtArrival – Main DoorsDismissal- Glass Doors for Car Riders- pick up in car lineNotes for any change in normal dismissal.Morning Snack – 10:30Lunch – 11:45- Discuss use of Aramark with your child.Afternoon Snack/Recess- 2:30Toys from home are ok, but they must fit in school bag along with school books. Tissues are always welcome !$5.00 Craft Fee will be collected for yearly crafts.

  3. Skills~ Reading- this is very developmental and each child will progress at their own speed. ~Writing- this is very new to 1st graders. Encourage sounding out and organization of thoughts to form sentences. ~ Math- addition/subtraction to 12; Place Value, Time/ Money, Word Problems.~ Independent Working and Responsibility- both essential skills for classroom success!

  4. Homework~Weekly Homework sheet is given and should remain in H Folder.~Homework is also on web site.~Normally- 2 “written pieces” along with daily reading time, sight word review and math flash cards. ~Tuesday night- Sharpen Pencils!~When writing words/sentences guide your child in sounding out process. ~Homework should not last more than 30 minutes. ~Weekly book reportT:\Book Reports\September October.doc

  5. Tests and Assessments~All classes test on the same days.~ Notice of tests will be on Homework Sheet.Test Folder- each Friday tests/assessments will go home in T Folder. Review and sign all tests, but please keep them in the folder.~ RVS Gradebook~Weekly Progress Report will also go home in T Folder. Again, review and sign but keep in the folder.
