  2. Summary • As a group, we decided to promote the Tommy Clause toy drive throughout the Lander campus and surrounding Greenwood area. We used various media outlets to convey our message, as well as going out into the community on our own to spread the word. We also took cash donations to give towards the spending effort. All together it took us approximately five weeks to master our plan and put it into action.

  3. Situation • Tommy Clause strives to reach out to more families every year that cannot afford toys during the holiday season. This year, he is already helping 290 families during their time of need. Each member of our team aimed to help Tommy Clause to provide for the families by giving toys and spreading the word to the Lander community about his cause through multiple channels of media.

  4. Objectives • We strived to increase the donations from the entire Lander community and to get everyone into the spirit of giving. We also motivated our fellow peers by handing out free candy canes with inspiring notes to donate and gave them brief information on the background of the cause.

  5. Target Audiences • Tommy Clause is a community wide event but our project focused on getting Lander students and faculty to donate a toy.

  6. Strategies • Not only did our team reach out to our peers, Tommy Clause also gave background stories on how he began the charity and why he continues to give back to those less fortunate. • “You won’t believe the grandmas raising children…” –Tommy Clause

  10. Measurement • Evaluation consisted of counting impressions (the potential number of people who saw or heard about donating to Tommy Clause). The Tommy Clause toy drive has increased exponentially through our efforts of raising awareness.
