  3. What are we going to learn? *focus on ecosystems *based on California state standards *outdoors as a classroom *use hands on experience and observation

  4. Constant observation and hands on activity leads to amazing chances for learning!

  5. Responsibilities *daily academic instruction *share living space with approx. 10 other kids *keep cabin neat *help in mess hall with: setting tables, serving, clean up

  6. Daily schedule 7:00- wake up 7:50- breakfast 9:15- meet teacher Group meeting/lesson Lunch Lesson 4:00- Cabin time/group meeting 5:20- dinner 7:00- evening program 8:45- bedtime preparation 9:30- Lights out!!

  8. Student Expectations Students are expected to behave in an exemplary manner at all times. They are expected to use manners, be considerate of others and respect all other people at camp. If there are any major behavior issues or if there are repeated issues, students will be removed from camp with NO REFUND and parents will need to drive to Malibu to pick your child up that day. There will be NO exceptions on this!

  9. Who will be caring for our children? *The Outdoor Science School staff (There are OSS staff bio’s on the website.) *Cabin leaders The leaders will be of the same sex. *Ms. LaCourse

  11. Who pays for camp? Parents are responsible for the total cost-$314.00 Options: Monthly payments Checks written to Loma Vista PTA given to Ms. LaCourse for accounting Fundraising

  12. Fundraising Fundraising plans: *Cheesecake sales *Jog-a-Thon *Coins in a bucket *Family movie nights Please plan on helping with set up, organizing, donating items and clean up!

  14. What forms need to be turned in? *financial agreement *conduct agreement *photo release *medical form *information form DUE APRIL 1, 2014

  15. What do students pack? Use the list! 2 bags only per student!! 1. Sleeping bag/bedroll: in a bag with a clear label! 2. Suitcase: all other items, clear label NO ELECTRONICS!!
