Key Guiding Principles for WPR HRH programme • Aligned with global HRH platforms & WHO global programme of work and medium term strategic plan (2008-2013). • Integrated with WHO priority areas of work - health systems strengthening and priority health intervention /initiatives. • Responsive to / support HRH needs of Member States: • Regional strategy on HRH 2006-2015

Pacific Open Learning Health Net (POLHN) • 16 Learning centres in 11 countries – internet access; website – www.polhn.org. • IT and basic computer training -enable workers to use for e-learning. • Health courses– tailor-made ones; accredited /certificated courses; online courses.800 + healthcare professionals • long-term business plan

  8. WPR HRH WORKPLAN2008-2009 • Implementation of Regional HRH strategy • Advocacy, facilitate coordinated approach & partnership • Focused country support & capacity strengthening

  9. WHO support : strategy implementation • Supporting the development of country-specific strategies and action plans (using the Strategy as guide where relevant). • Provide technical support - such as tools, guides, evidence, including best practices.
