Awami Brutality and MisruleWeek-1 (29 December’08-04 January’09) • Post election violence started; at last seven people killed including an elderly woman, over thousand injured • Attacked on minority Hindu group, dozen men, women, young girls, physicians injured, broke and burnt temple • Mass-raped in front of family members, kidnapped opponent parties’ activists • Undressed three local preachers at shopping mall and mosques • Universities, colleges and other educational institutions controlled by musclemen • Intolerable Awami intra-party clash, many students injured, BCL forced to flee their counter parties’ student from their own residential halls • Looted tons of rice, burnt poultry firms, slaughtered cattle just because of different opinion people owned

Week-3 (12 Jan – 18 Jan 09) • Two opposition leaders killed (one blazoned to death) • 275 opposition partyment hurt in University, National Masjid, different districts in post-poll violence. • Tense situation prevailing in all public Universities. • 1 opposition partyman’s tongue severed. • Illegally grabbing land by Jubo League, Chattro League cadre • Opposition UP chairman assaulted • DU VC forced to resign for not yielding to Chattro League demand • Partymen appointed for DU VC and Imam of the National Mosque • Previously fled criminal partymen returning from Abroad • Appointment of party loyalists in all level of Administrations

Week-4 (15 Jan – 25 Jan 09) • BCL Continues Attacking opponents and seizing dorms in Different Educational Institutions • BCL Cadres demanded resignation of VC in CU and ransacked Provost office in RU • BCL Cadres attacked print Media by preventing Circulation of 4 Daily Bangla Newspapers in DU • BCL Cadres Display their deadly weapons in public and continue fighting with each other in different Educational institutions. • BAL thugs attacked Islamic Scholars in Dhaka • BAL terrorists looted Ballot papers and boxes by terrorizing constituents in the Upazila election • AL MP sued for assaulting polling officials during Upazila election.

Feb 19, 2009:Police arrest activist carrying weapon: BCL workers turn uncontrollable Sumon, as BCL armed cadre was arrested from Jahangir Nagar University campus when he displayed his arms during gunfight with the rival BCL faction. He was sent to Dhaka Central Jail after being produced in the court.
