  1. August 29, 2014 4th Grade Classroom News Yearbooks for last year, the 2013-2014 school year, are available for purchase. Simply send in $12 marked “yearbook.” Students will begin Think Link testing next week. These tests provide valuable information to the teachers about what areas we need to focus on. Book orders are coming home today. They are due back by Friday, September 12. You may also order online. So far, Fudge has acted like a dog and tried to fly like a bird. We can’t wait to read about what Fudge will try to do next week! We do feel sorry for Peter though. On Tuesday, we will begin focusing on place value and writing large numbers using digits, expanded form, and in words. Students will have homework nightly. We will begin reading about the two groups of plants in Science. Ask your child about the groups! We will start spelling next week. Students will be divided into groups and given separate word lists. Your child only needs to learn their words. The tests will be on Friday. Monday, September 1—No School (Labor Day) Friday, September 12—Book orders due (4F and 4T) Tuesday, September 23—PTO Meeting, 6 p.m. Grade School Library Thursday, October 9—School Pictures Thursday, November 6/Friday, November 7—Parent/Teacher Conferences Friday, November 14—PTO Carnival 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.
