  3. Query Data • Gets data from each of the building DB’s • Is a good way to dumb data for manipulation • Query one building or five buildings • Save query templates • Excel or csv output • Include student data for any object

  4. Setting Up a Query • Choose schools • Choose Form to use (object) • Student demographics can be added to any object • Choose fields to include • Set filters • Don’t display filtered field

  5. Query Tips • Filter by school year • Filter inactives • Hidden Filters • For single date use date between • csv format for large query • To leave blank placeholder, use form name with no field

  6. Query Dialog Box “Select Template” – Let’s you choose a previously saved template.

  7. Query Dialog Box “File Name” – Set the name of the output file. Can be .csv or .xls format, selected later.

  8. Query Dialog Box “Schools to Include” – Let’s you choose which schools to include in the Query.

  9. Query Dialog Box “Run Export” – Executes the query after you set the parameters.

  10. Query Dialog Box “Save As…” – Saves the Query as a template that you can use in the future.

  11. Query Dialog Box “File Format” – This is where you select a .csv or Excel .xls format.

  12. Query Dialog Box “Form to Use” – This is where you select which form to export from. This is key.

  13. Form To Use Most are self explanatory. Grade information is kept in StudentClass. Most common form for exports is Student, but Student is available as a 2nd form in every query. All records are tied together by ID field.

  14. Query Dialog Box “Notes Field” – Selects the specific database fields in the form. Use Data Layouts located on support site if needed.

  15. Query Dialog Box “Don’t Display” – Allows you to use a field as a filter, without exporting it.

  16. Query Dialog Box “Filter” – Let’s you select a Boolean argument to filter on, requires use of Value field as well.
