The Multi-Cultural Task Force • The Multi-Cultural Task Force Committee held its first meeting 1-18-2011. • Mission is to promote an environment of respect, teamwork, and mutual understanding among students, staff, and faculty. • Strive to create a safe and supportive climate that promotes diverse points of view and in which every person is treated with respect and dignity. • We are staff, faculty, and students working together cooperatively to achieve the mission and goals of the Task Force

  4. Goals 1. Promote an environment of respect, teamwork, and mutual understanding among students, faculty, and staff. 2. Assist in recruiting and retaining students, faculty, and staff from underrepresented groups.

  5. Goals 3. Support the leadership development of underrepresented groups within the College, University, and profession of nursing. 4. Provide a forum for the creation, promotion, and maintenance of activities, programs, and policies that further our understanding of individual and group diversity in all areas of the College of Nursing.

  6. Principles of Inclusion • There is inherent dignity in each individual and group. • Inclusion is promoted through on-going education, open dialogue, and skill building. • Diversity, empowerment, equity, and access enhances the educational and cultural experiences of our students, faculty, and staff, making all of us better citizens of the world.

College of Nursing Diversity Survey 2012 The CON 2012 Diversity Survey was hosted on MUSC’s secure REDCap server and disseminated electronically via the College of Nursing’s list serve to Conreg@musc.edu, Constaff@musc.edu and Con-Students@musc.edu during the month of April 2012. There were 247 returned surveys with a 49.4% overall response rate (students: BSN 69, MSN 19, DNP 59, PhD 25, Staff 24, Temp Staff 12, and 39 from Faculty).
