ABOUT TEXTBOOKS Do not put any liquids in your backpack while carrying textbooks.  Please return any textbooks you no longer need for your classes before they become lost.  If you were told you have textbooks from previous years, please return them to the library. • All students should have their textbooks for all of their classes.   • Please check your textbooks for any damages.  If you notice anything wrong with your book, please return your book to the library and it will be fixed or exchanged for another book. 

  16. OPEN Wrestling Room every Tuesday and Thursday. • We also have Strength Training in the weight room Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Everyone is welcome. • Meet right after school by the wrestling room (in back of the Big Gym under the upper bleachers). • Come work out and learn new moves and/or what the sport of wrestling is all about. Online SAT Preparation Resources: • The College Board  the organization that creates the SAT, has a number of free resources on its website.  This is a great place to start. http://sat.collegeboard.org/practice • Question of the Day  Sign up to receive free daily Official SAT Question of the Day from The College Board. http://sat.collegeboard.org/practice • Number 2 is a free online test preparation website.  The site includes a feature that allows parents to monitor their student’s efforts and improvements. https://www.number2.com/ • I Need a Pencil is another good free online test preparation website. (you tube site) • Spark Notes provides lists of common SAT words along with free diagnostics, practice tests and flashcards. http://www.sparknotes.com/testprep/newsat/ • The New York Times Leaning Network offers comprehension quizzes based on recent New York Times content.  Strong reading comprehension skills are crucial for success on the SAT and in college.  This is a great way to help develop those skills. http://learning.blogs.nytimes.com/

  24. Saturday School this Saturday October 5th, 2013 8:00am-12:00pm. Come and clear your detentions and get off the LOP list. Students will meet no later than 8am in the front quad where they will be assigned a classroom for the four hours. Students must stay in Saturday School for the entire four hours to receive credit. All Saturday School dates will soon be up on the Hoover website calendar.

  25. Detention This Week • Detention will be held every day after school in Room 405/Computer Lab.  • Please tell students to enter through the outside door, not the Library.  • Detention starts at 2:30 and ends at 3:30.  • Students must be ON TIME to receive detention credit.
