  5. Aloof – distant or uninvolved The cat is aloof and hides on the roof.

  6. Cerebral – intellectual person, of the brain Fortified cereal helps one be more cerebral.

  7. Incongruous – not appropriate to the surroundings A new member was incongruous in dress for Congress.

  8. Bulwark – a defensive wall The bulls finished building the bulwark quickly.

  9. Connoisseur – an expert in art and taste Sewer rats are connoisseurs of garbage.

  10. Cacophony – harsh sounds . . . a cacophony of coughing

  11. Expunge – to remove, to erase, to delete Sponge Bob expunges the criminal record.
