  2. Topic Guidelines Nothing gross or tasteless No events after 1997 You have to like the topic Must focus on a single time period

  3. How should I think about the topic? What influenced this person/issue? What was going on during this time period? Think of different examples of leadership What was the legacy that person/institution has left? (long term effect)

  4. Assignments Blast Research- Find 3 possible topics you are interested in.

  5. 3Topic Blast Research What's available for my potential topics? Individual (Due September 19th ) (major grade) List 3 Print Resources per topic List 3 Online Resources per topic Create an annotated bibliography for all resources (18total.)

  6. Final Topic Selection What topic do I want to research? Individual (due Sept. 30) (daily grade) State topic • Give a one paragraph description of the topic you want to research: leadership and their legacy. • What background info lead this person to act? • What obstacles did this person face • Legacy: So what? Why does this person matter? • IF you are in a group, then list all group members.

Bibliography/ Process Paper/ Thesis Statement Group/Individual (due Nov 14th) (major grade) Three Pieces to turn in: • Annotated Bibliography of primary and secondary sources • Thesis: What is the main point/argument of my project? • Process Paper: How did I conduct my research? Why did I choose this topic?

  9. Rough Draft What is this project going to look like? Group/ Individual (Due Dec. 12th)(major grade) ALL words that will appear in your project • You’re content should be finished at this point Sketch of exhibit, outline of paper, sketch of website, or storyboard of performance or documentary
