  2. Overview The City of Lakeland have submitted a candidate TRIP project for the Crevasse – Lakeland Park Connector. In order for this project to be considered for funding by FDOT, the CCC’s regional roadway network must be amended to include the planned roadway. - All candidate TRIP projects must be part of a regional network adopted by a regional entity such as the CCC. The Polk TPO is requesting the JCAC to review and recommend approval of the addition of the Crevasse – Lakeland Park Connector to the CCC’s Regional Roadway Network. Regional Roadway Network

  4. The C-LPC is reflected in the TPO’s recently adopted 2035 Mobility Vision Plan (MVP) as a new 2-lane road that will provide a much needed east-west connection north of Interstate 4 between US 98 and SR 33. • The C-LPC is one of several roads that are planned to provide an alternative to Interstate 4 between the Hillsborough Co/L and the Polk Parkway (east). • The widening of I-4 is listed as an unfunded need in the 2035 MVP. • C-LPC will improve the function of 3 state facilities: Crevasse – Lakeland Park Connector Crevasse – Lakeland Park Connector

  5. The I-4/US 98 Interchange was improved as part of the 4 to 6-lane widening of I-4. No other improvements are planned for the interchange through 2035. • Provide a direct connection from I-4/SR 33 (exit# 33) to 2 regional activity centers – Lakeland Square Mall and Gateway Commons. • Provide relief to one of the most congested segments of Interstate 4 in Polk County (15,000 vehicles daily by Year 2030 between US 98 and SR 33/Socrum Loop Road), freeing up capacity for the regional freight movement that occurs on this critical facility of statewide significance.
