Correct problems quickly and peacefully before they escalate.

  • Value yourself. Be honest and ethical, and practice strong moral values.

  • Treat all members of the school community and all visitors with politeness and respect.

  • Honor the ideas and opinions of others.

  • Offer to help.

  • Be responsible with property and belongings.


Responsibility for coursework

Responsibility for Coursework

  • Bring notebook(s), textbook, planner, and appropriate writing tools to class, when needed.

  • Know due dates, and submit all coursework on time. You will not be allowed to print any drafts or final material during class period. THINK AHEAD!

  • If you incur problems printing at home you may print your assignment during homeroom.

  • All assignments are posted on the white board.

  • You will be allowed to have a water bottle in the classroom (no food please—unless for a special occasion).

  • Upon entering class, please take your seat, begin working on your do now.

  • Major assignments that are late will be penalized – 10 points for each day it is late. Plagiarism (uncredited use of somebody else's words or ideas) results in a zero.

  • Absences

    • Ask team members or a classmate first for assignments.

    • Check appropriate notebook and update accordingly (WNB, RNB, VNB, & GNB).

    • If you need any further clarification, see me.

  • Grades are based on the accumulation of points.

  • Points are based on:

    • Writing and Reading

      Notebooks

    • Completion of assignments

      (daily work)

    • Major projectsand exams

  • Grades are posted online and

    updated often.

  • Cedar Drive Grading Scale

    • 97-100% =A+

    • 94-96% =A

    • 90-93% =A-

    • 87-89% =B+

    • 84-86%=B

    • 80-83%=B-

    • 77-79%=B

    • 74-76%=C+

    • 70-73%=C-

    • 67-69%=D+

    • 65-66%=D

    • Below 64% =F

  • Grading

  • 30% Final writing piece/Grammar assessments.

  • 30% Reading assessments/Vocabulary assessments.

  • 20% Writing Workshop (this includes grading of writer’s notebook, and any other workshop assignment chosen to collect and grade with our without notice)!

  • 20% Reading Workshop (this includes grading of reader’s notebook, reading logs, and any other workshop assignment chosen to collect and grade with our without notice)!
