  2. Progress of the BEPCII power supply system 1. Up to now, except for the power supplies of Q1A、Q1B、ISPB in IR, the total of 381 sets of power supplies for the storage ring and transport line have been manufactured on time. And most of them have been finished testing with real load or dummy load in IHEP. The 3 sets power supplies of Q1a、Q1B、ISPB will be arrived to IHEP next month.

  4. Progress of the BEPCII power supply system 2. The installations of power supplies of magnets B, Q, S for storage ring and magnets B, Q for transport line have been completed . Meanwhile, the power cables , control cables and cooling water pipes have been connected to their power supplies. These equipments are ready for co-test.

  8. Progress of the BEPCII power supply system 3. The fabrication and installation for the power supplies and the quench protection systems (QPS) of superconducting magnets have been finished. These power supplies are testing with dummy load. 4. The quench detector of QPS was designed and built by BNL lab., the 16 sets of quench protection assembly (QPA) with alarm and record on line were designed and built in China. The test for QPA is under way.

  9. Progress of the BEPCII power supply system • 6 sets of temperature quick protection system for the magnet coils of Q1A, Q1B and ISPB have been completed and passed the test. They are ready for the installation • The temperature protection system for the normal magnet coils have been completed and installed. The signal cables are connecting with thermorelay on the magnets.

Difficulty an challenge Both devices of QPAIC for SCQ and temperature quick protection system for the magnet coils of Q1A, Q1B and ISPB are located with quit long distance ( > 100m ) from their sensors on the magnets, the EMI noise on the signal cables might cause the false action. Many EMC studies for these devices are necessary.

  11. Progress of the BEPCII power supply system 8. Question The power supplies of SCM and quench protection systems meet some troubles when we test them. The main problem is that the output voltage ripple of power supplies is larger than the requirement of the quench detector. And the reliability of these equipments need enhancement for long time operation.

  12. Progress of the BEPCII power supply system Output voltage ripples for Power supply SCBL at output current 522A BNL requirement: f <1kHz Vp-p < 250mv,f >1kHz, Vp-p < 50mv。 Test result : f <1kHz, Vp-p ≈100mv; f >1kHz 60mv base band with 250mv spike。

Progress of the BEPCII power supply system Summary • Themost of magnet power supplies are ready for commissioning. • The next step: We are struggling to Improve the performance of the superconducting magnets power supplies and the quench protection system to meet the design requirements as soon as possible.
