Updates from the Organizing Committee • 2000+ paper submissions • 700+ overseas submissions • Target attendance • 2000 participants in total • 800 overseas attendees • Helps needed from IFIP, TCs, and WGs to actively promote the Congress • Negotiations with Air China on discount air fares to Beijing

Updates (cont’d) • Current promotion to attract as many attendants as possible • Registration rates posted on the Web • Date for early registration moved from May 1 to June 1, 2000 • New rate for group registration (before June 1) • $480 each for groups over 14 delegates • $510 each for groups of 10-14 delegates • $530 each for groups of 5-9 delegates • $550 each for all above group sizes after June 1.

Electronic Paper Submission • First time in China that papers were submitted through the Web. • Out of 2000+ submissions • 2/3 were submitted through the Web • About 1/3 is from emails or postal mails • Authors select conference and type of papers to submit • All submitted papers were instantly visible to PC chairs
