Let’s recap! • A verb tense tells you when the action happens. • There are three main verb tenses; past, present and future. • Each tense is divided into; simple, perfect, progressive and perfect progressive.
Perfect Tenses Perfect tenses are always verb phrases. The helping verb in the phrase is always a form of verb to have. Basically write the verb using the past participle. The form of verb to have changes depending on the tense.
Progressive form • Progressive forms indicate a continuing action • It tells the reader that the action is taking place now • The action is in progress– hence the name • In progressive forms we use the present participle: verb to be + verb+ing • To make it simpler, I am going to categorize the 6 progressive forms into 2 parts: simple progressive and perfect progressive
A Progressive form of perfect tenses I added verb to have according to the tense with the word been and ended the verb with -ing
