The Oak Tree and the R eeds. Once upon a time, a big oak tree grew near a river. Some reeds also grew near the river. One day, a strong wind came and pushed the tree over. It fell into the river. The river carried the tree along on the way to the sea. The tree floated past the reeds.

  2. Once upon a time, a big oak tree grew near a river. • Some reeds also grew near the river.

  3. One day, a strong wind came and pushed the tree over. It fell into the river.

  4. The river carried the tree along on the way to the sea. • The tree floated past the reeds.

  5. “I don’t believe it” the tree said. • “The reeds are still standing after the storm”

  6. “Why are you still standing?” he asked one of the reeds . • “The storm was too strong for me and I am much stronger than you!”

  7. “That’s the problem” answered the reed . “You are very strong. You always fight against the wind .

  8. We know that we are weak , so we bend our heads and let the storm blow over us.

  9. We don’t try to fight against it, so here we are –still standing!!!

  11. It is better to bend than to break

  12. Always remember to be flexible in life !
