  3. Aims of today’s session • Consider what might constitute your own learning style/ approach to learning; • Reflect on your experiences as part of a team; • Clarify the assignment details. 3 parts with an activity in b between

  4. V,A,K questionnaires As the scores accumulated, what do you notice? What are the implications for our seminar group? What if this was your class in school?

  6. Good teachers incorporate all 3 modalities (VAK) within their planning. Divide into 3s. • Choose one modality each • Watch the 5 min video clip of a history lesson. • Record every way the teacher incorporates your chosen modality into the lesson. • Feed back to each other • How does this lesson engage all learners?

  9. Successful Team Work On your own, think about this: • Given a choice, how do you prefer to work? • On your own • With a friend • In a group / team • WHY? • Share in 3s / 4s

  15. Presentation is important! • Display will be part of your role as a classroom practitioner • Always use a ruler and / or paper cutter to ensure all paper edges are straight • Proof read carefully every word of the poster!

  17. Choosing a group & focus … • Move into groups of 4-5 • Choose from the list of names provided – only I group per figure • Sign up on the list • Begin the task from the next slide ….

Group / Team-work Guidelines • You are about to undertake a group poster assignment. • In your group, begin to devise than 4-6 guidelines which you all agree will support positive team work and a successful outcome. • Be prepared to share these (as far as you have got) with the main group. • Finish and type them up and include them as page 1 in your group’s assignment diary.
