  2. Welcome! Thrivent Builds programs provide you with several solutions you can use to help meet your personal, RFO and zone goals. Three training modules have been developed to help you explore these solutions: • What is Thrivent Builds – and what’s in it for you: general program information and your “3 jobs to be done” • Building a business plan with Thrivent Builds: strategic data to inform your conversations with FRs and your zone partner • How to get things done: accountabilities and role descriptions for executing Thrivent Builds events You are here!

Quick Review: Module 1 – Thrivent Builds … what’s in it for you? • Thrivent Builds programs have strengths and benefits that you can integrate into your critical three jobs to be done: • Development of affinity chapters, focused event for Thrivent Community, support an FR team in a community, etc. • Leverage in your zone plans to develop natural markets and centers of influence, for new FR retention and to grow membership • Grow awareness and connection to Thrivent (prospective members) 1 Strategic Leadership To Lodge ZONE

This module will help answer tactical questions like: • How do I make sure I get a TB Homes (or Repairs or Worldwide) project? • How do I execute a TB project? • What am I accountable for? • What support do I get from the home office through the Thrivent Builds Specialists? • How do I promote a TB project?

Thrivent Builds is completely aligned with the CET structure and is dedicated to supporting you in your new role. Our goal is to provide you with the programs, support and information you need to be successful. Determining who does what as well as where the handoffs are between Thrivent Builds and the CET is not yet cut in stone. How responsibilities will be split between CET and the home office support provided by the Thrivent Builds specialists is subject to change based on what we learn from you through the balance of this year and into 2013.

Executing on Thrivent Builds … Thrivent Builds’ accountabilities • TBS Tasks – a more detailed look • Completion of TBH project status reports. • Work with identified Habitat affiliates to ensure project requirements are met. • Provide expertise to you and affiliates regarding program requirements. • Assist with completion of Thrivent Builds Homes and Repairs applications and final reports. • Assist with team leader recruitment for Thrivent Builds Worldwide teams. How does this work in real life?Scenario #1: Thrivent Builds Homes Multiple events can be held throughout the project to maximize impact Step #1 (Regional Strategy) MCE or CEL determines FR engagement, location for project and affiliate Step #2 CET shares list of potential affiliates and chapters to TBS Step #4 CET assists with fundraising and submits final build info to TB and helps FR follow up with volunteers Step #3 CET plans & executes TBH events Project Complete TBS completes monthly Project Status Report TBS directs CEC to available promotion tools and resources (bulletin inserts, posters, etc.) TBS completes final report, encourages follow up with volunteers TBS answers technical questions from both CET and affiliate on accessing, filling out application TBS supports locating a qualified affiliate TBG approves app; notifies CET & affiliate Affiliate receives pre-populated app from TBG

  11. How does this work in real life?Scenario #2: Thrivent Builds Repairs Step #4 Affiliate submits affiliate final report to TBS. TBS submits final report to TBG and helps CET/FR follow up with volunteers Step #1 MCE or CEL determines FR engagement, location for project and affiliate Step #2 CET invites affiliate to apply Step #3 CET plans & executes TBR event Affiliate submits app to TBG Project Complete! TBS supports locating a qualified affiliate TBS answers technical questions from both CET and affiliate on accessing, filling out application, tracks down missing information TBS facilitates promotion of event, directing CEC to available promotion tools and resources (bulletin inserts, posters, etc.) TBS assists with final report, encourages follow up with volunteers TBG approves; notifies CET & affiliate

How does this work in real life?Scenario #3: Thrivent Builds Worldwide Step #3 CEL/CEC support team leader with publicity and volunteer recruitment Step #2 Potential team leaders directed to thriventbuilds.com and fill out interest form Step #1 MCE or CEL talk up TBW trips to FRs and other potential team leaders or participants Trip Complete! TBS sends team interest form to CEL to be informed of Team Leader’s interest TBW Staff receives interest form and interviews candidate

Your first step to secure a Thrivent Builds project • Thrivent Builds Homes • Determine zone interest – prior to or during Regional Strategy (June 9 – August 27, 2013) • Application invitee list due to TBS August 27 • Thrivent Builds Repairs • Determine zone engagement through Strategic Conversations with MP/zone Partner/Habitat affiliate • Invite affiliates to apply (rolling application process, only requirement is that project is complete by calendar year end) • Thrivent Builds Worldwide • Determine MP/Partner/FR interest • Support team leader: • In submitting Team Interest Form • Team member recruitment • Team publicity
