  15. Doctrine of PeaceA. Definition:

  16. 1. Peace is the result of having a relationship with God, characterized as having inner peace and happiness. It is sharing the happiness of God when the believer is occupied the Lord Jesus Christ.

  17. 2. The relationship with God is established through adjustment to the justice (integrity) of God under three categories.

  18. a. Salvation adjustment to the justice of God by faith in Christ, thereby freeing God to give us His perfect righteousness, which permits Him to declare us justified. Rom 5:1; Eph 2:8‑9

  19. Rom 5:1, “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

  20. b. Rebound adjustment to the justice of God by acknowledgment of our personal sins, which permits God to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9-2:2

  21. c. Maturity adjustment to the justice of God by the daily PMA of Bible doctrine, which results in spiritual growth to the point of spiritual maturity and blessing from the justice of God. Col 3:15-16

  22. Col 3:15, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body; and be thankful.”

  23. 3. Relationship with the integrity of God first means salvation, then fellowship with God, and finally blessing from God as mature believers.

  24. All of this adds up to the Greek word EIRENE, which means true blessing and true security.

  25. a. There can only be one true security in life.

  26. It is not through relationship with anyone else in the world, or by the possession of the accouterments of happiness.

  27. It is relationship with the integrity of God. Rom 8:6; 14:17, 19.

  28. Rom 14:17, “For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
