  2. What you can do • Obtain a certified document without having to send in a written request or come into our office. • Use your credit card to pay. • Receive your certified document through the mail.

  3. What is a certified document? • County certified documents are used when the original cannot be found or obtained. The copies are made from our records and are then certified with the Recorder’s seal. These copies are then treated as a true, certified copy in a legal sense and will hold up as the original document would.

  4. Certifications made online • All online certified documents contain the same features as a certified copy made in our office. • Online certified copies are made from our image database.

  5. Online Certification Features • A tamper-proof seal and certification stamp from our office • A U.S. Postal Service electronic postmark • $5.00 flat fee • Only documents in iCRIS are available for online certification at this time.

  6. Obtaining a certified copy online • Log in to our document search web site at http://icris.lancasterdeeds.com . • Search for your document as you normally would. • Bring up the screen to choose how you want the document image to be displayed.

  7. Starting in iCRIS To get your certified copy, click the light blue button. You will then be taken to a secure site to begin the certification process.

  8. Thumbnail View Review your document. If it is the you want certified, click “Continue.” If not,click “Cancel.

  9. Stamp and Postmark Review Look over seal and stamp. If you are satisfied, click “Continue.” If not, click “Cancel.”

  10. Payment Information Enter your address and payment information. Select “Continue” complete the process, or click “Cancel.” All certified document online are available at a flat fee of $5.00.

  11. Finishing the process • You will be then be taken to a copy of your completed certified document. • Your document will be given an electronic postmark. • You will then be given a receipt of your transaction. • Your certified document will be e-mailed to you for downloading and printing.

  12. Paying with a credit card • Our certification site is a secure with SSL encryption. It is safe to pay with a credit card on our site. • When using your credit card ANYWHERE on the Internet, please use caution and make sure the vendor is using secure web site technology.
