Groupwork reportback - 2.2 • User approaches a series of Mechs • Sent to Mechs by ORACLE who sets up the scene • The Mech will freeze as soon as you say anything ?detection of sound • And drop their communication device • The user is to pick up the communication device ?real world device? • Need way of selecting their device and when you do this it teleports into the user’s mobile phone • Speak magic word into phone as password • Screen becomes Mech virtual world

  4. Groupwork reportback - 2.3 • In virtual world all communication has to have an emotion • Provide interaction devices to signal emotion • In virtual world mechs Glow? Colour? Sounds? Showing emotional state • To approach a mech you have to match its emotional state • Your avatar will look the same colour or whatever as the Mech • Use SMS to talk to a Mech

Groupwork reportback - 4 • Meeting our objectives: • Elisabeth: novel interaction modes; new ways for users to express emotions • Thurid: Aural password recognition, trying to match Mech emotional state with some speech • Paola: Pedagogic element of the ORACLE tells story facilitator what the learning goals are and tracks user learning (user models) • Karin: Innovative use of mobile phones
